In Q1 of 2023, there were a total of 405 fire incidents, resulting in 16 deaths

According to the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security, there were a total of 405 fire incidents in this quarter, resulting in 16 deaths. Compared to 2022, the number of fires decreased by 19.08%, however, the death toll increased by one person, and the number of injured decreased by 14 people.
Fire and explosion incidents mainly occur in areas with rapid economic development and urbanization, and especially in residential areas. In the first quarter, there were many large fires, such as the fire at Kim Long Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong and the fire at Thanh Oai Industrial Park, Hanoi.

The Fire and Rescue Police Force has carried out many activities to improve this situation, including guiding and rescuing 21 people trapped in the fires. They have also focused on advising and implementing directives related to fire prevention and fighting in the new situation, such as Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2023 of the Prime Minister.
To improve the situation in the second quarter of 2023, the Fire and Rescue Police force plans to expand models such as "Fire safety joint family groups", "Public fire fighting points" in residential areas and strengthen propaganda and training for the community.
In summary, although there has been certain progress in reducing the number of fires and explosions, the situation is still complicated and requires stricter management and prevention measures.
